We Are |
Human Factors
International (HFI) is a user-centered design company. Our mission
is to improve the interactions that people have with computers.
We offer training, consulting and products for improving the usability
of Web sites, Intranets, Internet-based applications, and Windows™
applications. We help our clients provide more friendly and efficient
interfaces for their customers, clients and employees.
Most of our
technical consultants and seminar instructors are PhDs in ergonomics,
the science of "user friendliness". Many are Human Factors and Ergonomics
Society members and certified by the Board of Certified Professional
Ergonomists.
Eric Schaffer,
PhD, started HFI in 1988, building on his half of Human Performance
Associates, a company he helped start in 1981. Our home office is
in Fairfield, Iowa, with satellite offices in Boston, MA; Baltimore,
MD; Hazlet, NJ; Dayton, OH; San Francisco, CA; London, UK; and Mumbai,
India.

We Do |
HFI offers
complete end-to-end User-Centered Solutions™ for Web, Intranet
and Internet-based applications, including design, implementation,
deployment and maintenance.
HFI also trains
and consults with developers to help them create interfaces that
are easier to use. Our ergonomics knowledge is a dynamic blend of
art and technology based on the latest research in the cognitive
sciences. The training and certification curriculum includes courses
such as:
