Favorite Projects

Projects with significant complexity, heavy user involvement, and room for innovation. I like to do hands-on design in VB and stretch my current skill levels.

Areas of Interest and Design Orientation

Like to get into the parts from the context of the whole. Want to see the underlying principles in the complexity, and not get away with living in an ivory design tower. Eric and others here have postulated a set of GUI forms which satisfy a large percentage of corporate GUI requirements. I'm fascinated with a Platonic notion of "ideal GUI objects" and the rules that guide their behavior. As-of-yet untapped models of design exist here (for the theoretically inclined).

Hobbies and Special Interests

Playing with my son, Bentley, and wife, Maggie. I like to play Sting songs on my nylon six string – would like to perform/record music again someday. Enjoy almost any water activity, especially after I've mowed the lawn. Meditation continues to keep me grounded, and a new found interest in yoga might help me survive the road better, help!

Favorite Food

Smoothies and veggie-links for breakfast. Home-made tacos for lunch with fresh tortillas my mom sends me (hi mom!) (Buckler non-alcoholic beer is a nice accent). A vegetarian thali down at the local India Cafe (with spiced tea) makes a perfect evening.

Character

Palatino 8 pt. I get along well with folks, and like to be in front of a crowd. I'm not a genius and that makes me a good teacher. I'm learning to have an "attitude" when it comes to interface design – decisive thinking is rewarded in this field. I like to work hard and play hard. Leo is my rising sign, I like rising to an occasion.
