Localization Assessment

Big Bucks the Manager happily tells Eric, "That was great! Now we want a version for China… next month." Eric looks perplexed. The software was never designed for localisation.

Eric goes to his Programmer, Monty, who tells Eric that China doesn't have a two-byte character support… So the software won't work in China. Besides, metaphors like baseball that was used in the software will never work in China, as China doesn't play the game.

Eric tells Frank the Analyst, "Required individual to make a decision, without group consensus." Frank apologies.

Eric dejectedly goes to Big Bucks and informs him that the version for China cannot be released, as the software does not support localisation.

Gist: Make the decision of localisation based on the knowledge and guidelines provided by the Schaffer Method.
