Human Factors International is Bronze Sponsor for World Usability Day

Once again, HFI is supporting World Usability Day. In 2005, we were Title Sponsor for the first annual World Usability Day. "This was a great opportunity for usability to be recognized on a global scale as the key differentiator for technology," says Jay More, President of HFI. "We are proud to be involved with such a fantastic event."

This year we have chosen to be a Bronze Sponsor. The Usability Professionals Association organizes this global event and HFI's international presence helps promote World Usability Day throughout the world. We are sponsoring events in New York and New Jersey. In addition, HFI Directors will be speaking at the IQPC Real Time Technology and Workforce Integration conference in Dubai.

At the New York event, HFI's Executive Director, Mona Patel, will give a presentation on "Trends in Usability". Project Director Mary Michaels, will give a recap of the "Best of" the past year's presentations at the New York UPA meetings.

At the Dubai conference, HFI's VP of Asia, Apala Lahiri Chavan, will speak on "Localization Of Systems To Match Workforce Capabilities" and Project Director Hitesh Agrawal will give a presentation on "Institutionalizing Common Usability: Creating A Common Portal To Enhance Workforce Mobility And Performance."

On November 14th, 2006, a worldwide series of events will promote the benefits of user-centered design, with the theme "Making Life Easy." (See complete list of events)

Elizabeth Rosenzweig "The overwhelming response to World Usability Day 2005 far exceeded our expectations and have energized our efforts for 2006," notes Elizabeth Rosenzweig, Director of World Usability Day. "We already have regional liaisons in place around the world; and have developed a Web-based system to enable local leaders to submit their events on our Website and register local volunteers." Rosenzweig added, "Our goals for 2006 include growing the number and size of the events worldwide and offering additional webcasting features that enable World Usability Day to be even more accessible. In order to accomplish this, we will need more event leaders and volunteers as part of the World Usability Day team!"
