Web 2.0 Workshop

UX 2.0: User experience in a Web 2.0 world

Web 2.0 refers to the tools, applications, designs, and patterns of use that are turning the Web into a social user experience. But how does this affect corporate Web sites, intranets, and knowledge-sharing? When does it make sense to use Web 2.0 technologies in a business environment, and how do you maintain a successful user experience? This workshop helps you answer these questions and develop a plan to address them.

Workshop outline
I. What is Web 2.0? We start with a one hour presentation to your team on the basics of Web 2.0 to make sure everyone is on the same page and speaking the same language.
II. Exploration of opportunities We lead your team through a discussion to explore possible opportunities.Where does it make sense to add Web 2.0’s increased interaction techniques? Where does it make sense to add social collaboration and networking?
III. Storyboarding/wireframing We take some of the ideas discussed above and collaboratively sketch out opportunities. We storyboard and wireframe actual user interface pages to describe the ideas in mind.
IV. Summary and next steps Before we are done for the day,we summarize what has been decided and define next steps to keep moving forward.

HFI's Chief of Technical Staff, Dr. Susan Weinschenk, states that Web 2.0 is the biggest change to happen to user experience in 20 years because it promotes social networking and collaboration. Don't let your company miss out on the huge business potential.
